Evelyn: 2 month

I can't believe Evelyn has already passed the newborn phase and now 2 months old!

These have been two overwhelming months of ups and downs.
First couple of weeks of her life were rough in particular. On top of being excited about our baby, I was going through recovering from the birth and adjusting to a new life. Everything turned upside down and in the moment of panic I really doubt my ability to be a good parent. Fortunately as everybody promised - things got better with time. We established our new routine, I started feeling more confident with her and learned how to balance things. I'm loving every moment of my baby's life now!

Some  pictures of her first two month.

She's here

Happy to announce that our little girl is here!
Evelyn took her first breath on Dec. 29th.  She's 6 lb. 19 inches long adorable cutie.
Welcome to the world baby!
We love you to pieces,
Your newly parents.

9 months

Here are the two last belly pictures I took today.
My little bump is not that little any more - the journey is about to end.
The nursery is ready, bags are packed and I'm fully loaded in anticipation of the birth.
It's been a very special time for us and I sure will miss it. I'll always remember like yesterday finding out that I'm pregnant, how I told hubby, the first time I saw the baby on the monitor and found out it's a girl. Even the aches and pains of the first trimester now make me smile.
Having a baby in my belly and knowing it's safe is of course very comforting, but actually holding it in my hands would be, oh so much better! Can't wait to meet this little person inside me.

Air balloon mobile

Finished my air balloon mobile for the nursery.
I found this awesome tutorial and very glad I went for it.
It's just what I wanted!
Took me a while, since just like author of the tutorial, I sewed it completely by hand, making some decoration changes on the way.
I was a little worried it would be too heavy, but even the slightest breeze brings these balloons to live.
I also made little baskets from the clay instead of cork pieces and some small beads.

Great combination of colors and fun for the baby's visual development.
Hope she likes it!

6-7 months

Where did the time go!?
This week I passed 7 months and now officially in the 3d trimester!
Two photos to compare the belly size

I love it! Can't wipe this long stupid grin off my face every time I look in the mirror :)
It's so round and firm now, constantly showing little bumps from the baby kicks.
Based on my belly shape I can already recognize whether it's baby's head or an elbow that's poking.
Or maybe I just like to think that I can.
It's great that she got much stronger and more active, except for the night time when her boxing exercises wake me up.
My energy level is pretty low these days, in fact it's barely present in the middle of the day. I'm happy when at least something is done from the 'to do' list.
The appetite, on the other hand, is growing noticeably. I used to crave potato in the second trimester, but now it's all about fruits. The other day I ate an entire lemon without feeling any aversion to its sourness.
I also can't get enough of apple cider (it's right in season, so yay!).
Me and baby have gained approximately around 8 kg (17lb) from the start, which is still considered a little too low. I guess it's just my body type that won't let me be very big, although I have 2 more months to go.
All blood tests came fine and overall my doctors are very optimistic about the pregnancy, saying I'm young and healthy and that's everything it takes to grow a healthy baby.
Last month I had so much fun with a baby shopping. I guess it's another thing that first-time moms are enjoying. This couple of diapers turned into this shelf filled with all first essentials.
We haven't gotten any baby furniture yet, so I store everything like this.

Weekend wonder

Last weekend was great.
I got to photograph my favorite season in the most vivid and happy colors.
We went to the same location last year, but this time the weather was much sunnier and warmer, inviting us to lie down on the rustling leaves and enjoy the warmth and beauty of the nature around.
I've never thought of Fall as the depressing time - to me it's all the way around.
I simply adore it.
Are you enjoying the season?
